July 2020: Wendell Harris was named head football coach and boys athletic coordinator at Burbank High School. This will be his first varsity football head coaching job.
May 2020: Read about how Burbank's entire garden harvest went to the San Antonio Food Bank to feed families facing economic hardship as a result of COVID-19. There are 236 students involved in ag science and the FFA chapter at Burbank, and starting this year, the school has partnered with the Palo Alto College Horticulture Department.
As a result of 2016 bond funding, Burbank is benefiting from significant campus improvements that are already well underway. PBK Garza Bomberger & Associates and Morganti/Casias are collaborating on the project.
Designing a new main building provides a great opportunity to give the students a campus to take pride in. Linking the existing campus with a newly designed building is an exciting part of the process. The design team reviewed the existing floor plans with the principal and discussed programming needs, building flow and phasing. Later, the auditorium will be targeted for renovation.
